ARLINGTON, Texas – Three former baseball standouts from the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) have been selected to represent the American League in the 2025 MLB All-Star Game presented by Mastercard. The game is scheduled for July 15 at 8 p.m. (ET) at Truist Park in Atlanta.
New York Yankees outfielder
Aaron Judge was named to his seventh MLB All-Star Game. Judge, a two-year standout in the WAC, was the 2011 WAC Freshman of the Year and was a member of the all-conference first team in 2011 and 2012. Judge landed on the league all-tournament team in both seasons following team victories at the WAC Baseball Tournament at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, Arizona. Judge added Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-America honors during his WAC tenure in 2011.
Detroit Tigers starting pitcher and reigning CY Young Award winner
Tarik Skubal earned a second consecutive AL All-Star bid. Skubal was tabbed to the All-WAC Second Team in 2015 after leading the conference in wins (6) during league play, ultimately landing on that season’s Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-America team. Skubal returned from a lengthy injury as a senior in 2018 to pace the WAC with 64 strikeouts over 46.1 innings pitched in conference play.
Athletics shortstop
Jacob Wilson continued a stellar rookie season by being selected to his first career MLB All-Star Game. Wilson was a three-time all-conference first team choice (2021-23) in the WAC, leading all players with a .489 batting average in league games in 2023. In his final season in the conference, Wilson claimed WAC Defensive Player of the Year, ABCA All-America Third Team, NCBWA All-America Second Team and Baseball America All-America Second Team accolades before being drafted sixth overall by the Athletics in the 2023 MLB June Amateur Draft.
