University Credit Union WAC Baseball Player, Pitcher Of The Week Announced

ARLINGTON, Texas – California Baptist’s Bryce McFeely and Tarleton State’s Cort Lowry have been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, March 8.

McFeely, a graduate transfer outfielder, batted .444 with five home runs, 12 RBIs, a 1.333 slugging percentage and eight runs scored in a 4-0 CBU week. McFeely kicked off the week with a 2-for-4 showing with two home runs and four RBIs in a 5-3 win over UC Riverside on March 3. In a three-game sweep for the Lancers at BYU on March 5-7, McFeely batted a combined .429 with three home runs, eight RBIs and six runs scored.

Lowry, a sophomore right-handed pitcher, turned in a stellar start for Tarleton State at New Mexico on March 7 to earn his first career victory. Lowry threw five innings of no-hit baseball against the Lobos, yielding three walks and seven strikeouts on 77 pitches in a 7-3 win, which set the table for a four-game series sweep for the Texans.
