University Credit Union WAC Baseball Player, Pitcher Of The Week Announced

ARLINGTON, Texas – Utah Tech’s Kyle McDaniel and California Baptist’s Ryne Palmer have been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Feb. 22.

McDaniel, a junior second baseman, batted .389 with a home run, seven RBIs, two stolen bases and four runs scored in a 3-1 week for Utah Tech that included a midweek win over CSU Bakersfield and a series victory at Pacific. McDaniel finished the CSUB game 3-for-6 with five RBIs and a run scored on Feb. 18. McDaniel reached base safely twice with an RBI and run scored in each win against Pacific on Feb. 20 and 21 to extend his active on-base streak to 49 games dating back to the 2025 season.

Palmer, a senior right-handed pitcher, earned his first win of the season after a solid start in a 5-1 win over Seattle U on Feb. 22. Palmer spun 5.0 innings of shutout baseball, surrendering no runs on three hits and two walks while striking out six Redhawks.
