ARLINGTON, Texas – Utah Valley’s
Isaac Emojong and
Kolby Sessions and San José State’s
Ruben Flores-Thomas have been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Soccer Offensive Player, Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week, for the match week ending on Monday, Sept. 1.
Emojong, a sophomore midfielder, helped Utah Valley improve its season record to 4-0-0 with two more multi-goal shutouts last week. Emojong assisted on the match-winning goal in the 26th minute of a 2-0 clean sheet against Florida Gulf Coast on Aug. 28. On the road later in the weekend at Omaha on Aug. 31, Emojong scored the first Utah Valley goal at 58:04 and finished with a match-high three shots on goal in a 3-0 Wolverine victory.
Flores-Thomas, a junior right back, has helped preside over two shutouts during a 3-0-0 start to the season for San José State, most recently a 2-0 win at CSU Bakersfield on Aug. 29. The Spartans limited CSU Bakersfield to just three shots on goal over the full 90 minutes, with only one shot on target in the second half. Flores-Thomas also assisted on the opening San José State goal in the 18th minute before adding an insurance goal of his own in the 25th minute to cap the scoring.
Sessions, a redshirt sophomore goalkeeper, continued his stellar debut season at Utah Valley by running his current streak of scoreless play to an even 360 minutes of match time. Sessions registered two saves each against FGCU on Aug. 28 (2-0 win) and at Omaha on Aug. 31 (3-0 win) for his third and fourth solo clean sheets thus far in the 2025 campaign.
