Kennedi Knudsen, UT Arlington’s
Mira Ledermueller and Abilene Christian’s
Brennan Ramirez have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Volleyball Player, Setter, and Libero of the week, for the match week ending on Monday, Sept. 1.
Knudsen, a senior outside hitter, led Utah Tech to a 2-1 weekend at the Rebel Challenge hosted by UNLV. Knudsen recorded 40 kills (3.64/set) over the tournament, including 15 kills in a near-upset over Iowa for the Trailblazers. The WAC Preseason Player of the Year added 26 digs, seven assists, six total blocks and two aces for a total of 45.0 points (4.09/set) on the weekend.
Ledermueller, a junior setter, accumulated 122 assists (8.71/set) in UT Arlington’s 3-0 start to the season at the Bradley Invitational Tournament. Ledermueller has already recorded two matches of 40+ assists including the match against Western Illinois where she notched 47 assists. Ledermueller also tallied 29 digs, seven aces, seven total blocks and three kills for the Mavericks.
Ramirez, a redshirt-freshman libero, totaled 53 digs (4.41/set) and 15 assists in Abilene Christian’s opening home tournament. Ramirez recorded highs of 23 digs and six assists in the match versus Incarnate Word. This weekend marked Ramirez’s first action at the collegiate level after redshirting last season.
