WAC WSOC25 Release Week 4

UTAH TECH EMERGES VICTORIOUS IN NORTHRIDGE
The Trailblazers won their lone match last week on Thursday night against Cal State Northridge 2-1 for their first road win of the season. Utah Tech was propelled by two first-half goals scored by Abby Olsen (9’) and Bre Koscielski (30’), the first goals of the season for both players. Michelle Rodriguez led the Trailblazer defense that held the Matadors to just two shots on goal, awarding her the WAC Defensive Player of the Week. Utah Tech will look to carry the momentum to Pocatello, Idaho where they will take on Idaho State on Thursday, Sept. 4.

TARLETON STATE SCORES FOUR ON INCARNATE WORD
Tarleton State kicked off a five-game homestand with a big 4-1 win over Incarnate Word last Sunday afternoon. Jaycie Bass notched her first two goals, and first brace, of the season in the match against the Cardinals. Her strong performance won her the WAC Offensive Player of the Week. Sammy Schulze also found the back of the net for her first goal of the season, and Stevie Reynolds continued her offensive dominance with her sixth goal of the season. The Texans will host Texas A&M - Corpus Christi and McNeese next week looking to pick up two more victories in the homestand.

NOTHING BUT NET FOR REYNOLDS
Tarleton State’s Stevie Reynolds is making national noise as she is ranked inside the top ten nationally in three offensive statistical categories. Reynolds is T-6th in total goals (6), T-9th in total points (13) and T-10th in goals per game (1.00). Reynolds is one of only 10 players in the country to have six or more goals.

UTAH VALLEY TO CONCLUDE DEMANDING HOME STRETCH
Utah Valley has put its team to the test last week taking on strong opponents in California and Auburn, resulting in a 1-1 draw with the Golden Bears and a 2-0 loss to the Tigers. The tough battles will continue at home for the Wolverines as they will host LSU on Thursday, Sept. 4 and Gonzaga on Monday, Sept. 8 looking to get back in the win column. Thursday’s contest will be the first-ever meeting between Utah Valley and LSU.
