ARLINGTON, Texas – Tarleton State’s Alvaro Pastor has been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Golfer of the Week for the competition week ending on Wednesday, Mar. 18.  
 
Pastor, a redshirt freshman, became the first golfer in Tarleton State program history to capture the individual title in back-to-back events after winning his second collegiate title on Tuesday at Houston’s All-American Intercollegiate. Out of 80 golfers in the field, Pastor was the only one in the tournament to finish under par at 2-under, carding rounds of 77-66-71=214. Pastor secured the title by five strokes, beating seven players in the Clippd Top 100 Rankings. He also recorded the most birdies in the field with 15, eight of them coming in the second round. Pastor helped the Texans to a third-place team finish, Tarleton State’s third straight tournament in the top three.
