ARLINGTON, Texas – Tarleton State’s Braylin Pannill and Jaelynn Duke have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Apr. 12.
 
Pannill, a junior infielder, notched a hit in each of Tarleton State’s four games last week where the Texans finished 4-0, including a three-game sweep over Southern Utah. Pannill went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, and three RBIs in a 6-1 midweek victory over North Texas. Pannill then collected an additional five RBIs with three runs scored in the weekend series versus the Thunderbirds as she recorded two games with a home run. Pannill finished the week with a .455 batting average with four of her five hits being for extra bases.
 
Duke, a sophomore right-handed pitcher/outfielder, picked up a pair of wins in the pitching circle last week as she posted an ERA of 0.58 over 12.0 inning pitched for the Texans. Duke tossed five shutout innings of relief against North Texas as she allowed just three total baserunners. Duke then pitched her first complete game of the season in the second matchup of the Friday double-header against Southern Utah, where she allowed only one earned run. The dual threat also had a strong week in the batter’s box for Tarleton State, recording a .429 batting average with a home run, three RBIs and four runs scored.
