ARLINGTON, Texas – The California Baptist Lancers have secured the top seed for the 2026 University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Softball Tournament that will take place on May 6-9, hosted by Tarleton State at the Tarleton Softball Complex in Stephenville, Texas.

California Baptist claimed its first-ever WAC regular season title on the final game of the regular season, as the Lancers defeated Tarleton State 7-6 on a walk-off two-run home run from Victoria Macias. The Lancers finished the 2026 campaign with a 15-3 conference record and a 40-16 overall record. CBU earned a first-round bye and will first play on Thursday, May 7 at 10 a.m. CT against the winner of No. 4 Utah Valley and No. 5 Southern Utah.

Tarleton State secured the second seed in the tournament and the second first-round bye after recording a 35-21 (13-5 WAC) season record. The Texans will battle with the winner of No. 3 UT Arlington and No. 6 Utah Tech on Thursday, May 7 at 1 p.m. CT.

The Wolverines and the Thunderbirds will kick off the tournament on Wednesday, May 6 at 3 p.m. CT followed by the contest between the Mavericks and Trailblazers at 6 p.m. CT.

The championship game of the 2026 University Credit Union WAC Softball Tournament is set for Saturday, May 9 at 1 p.m. CT, with the ‘if necessary’ game 11 to follow the conclusion of game 10. All games will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
