DENVER – The Western Athletic Conference has announced its All-WAC men's soccer teams and major awards as selected by the league's 12 head coaches. Air Force's Tristan Trager was named WAC Offensive Player of the Year and Grand Canyon's Esai Easley was named WAC Defensive Player of the Year. Utah Valley's Diego Castillo was named WAC Freshman of the Year while San José State manager Simon Tobin was named WAC Coach of the Year.

Trager, a senior midfielder from San Clemente, Calif., scored 11 goals in 11 WAC matches to lead the Air Force to a tie for second place in the conference standings. He also added six assists and had the boot on four game-winning goals for the Falcons.

Esai, a senior defender from Kona, Hawai'i, anchored the Lopes' backline in GCU's second regular season title of the calendar year. In addition, he scored the game-winning goal in the Lopes' 1-0 win over Saint Mary's on Sep. 10.

Castillo, a midfielder from Mexico City, started all ten WAC matches for the Wolverines. Having scored in non-conference matches at Canisius and at home against CSUN and Washington, he scored in UVU's road match at Chicago State, adding an assist for three points. He also had a pair of assists against Dixie State and assisted on a goal in a 4-1 win over UNLV.

Tobin, in his eighth season leading the Spartans after 27 years at CSU Bakersfield, wins his first WAC coach of the year award and seventh coach of the year award overall. The native of London, he has led the Spartans to the WAC Tournament in each of the last five seasons, earning runner-up finishes in 2017 and 2018.
