ARLINGTON, Texas – California Baptist’s Leo Mendez, Seattle U’s Habib Famuditimi and Utah Tech’s Stockton Short have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Soccer Offensive Player, Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week, for the match week ending on Monday, Oct. 2.
 
Mendez, a senior forward, led the conference with five points during the week after erupting for two goals and an assist in a 3-0 shutout of Grand Canyon on Oct. 1. Mendez scored the winning goal at 11:58, added an insurance score at 27:49 and served the primary assist on the final CBU goal at 88:03 to kick off the WAC schedule for the Lancers.
 
Famuditimi, a senior defender, was a key member of the Seattle U defense that opened conference play 2-0-0 following home victories against Utah Valley (5-2) on Sept. 28 and Air Force (2-0) on Oct. 1. Famuditimi played all 180 minutes and helped limit opponents to six total shots on goal, including only one attempt on frame by Air Force in the Seattle U clean sheet.
 
Short, a sophomore goalkeeper, earned his second weekly conference honor of the season after an impressive showing on the road in a 1-0 shutout of UTRGV on Oct. 1 to open the conference schedule for Utah Tech. Short was credited with five saves in the contest to earn his second solo clean sheet of the 2023 campaign.
