Seattle U Earns Top Seed In The 2023 WAC Men’s Soccer Tournament

ARLINGTON, Texas
– Seattle U officially captured the number one seed for the 2023 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Soccer Tournament that will take place on Nov. 5-11 at Peter Johann Memorial Field in Las Vegas.
 
The Redhawks, who finished with a regular season record of 12-2-3, registered the sixth unbeaten conference season in WAC history with a 7-0-1 mark and 22 points in league play. Seattle U scored multiple goals in six of its eight conference starts, earning three WAC clean sheets. The top seeded Redhawks earned a bye to the semifinal round.
 
Also earning a bye to the semifinal round of the WAC Men’s Soccer Tournament was No. 2 seed and defending tournament champion California Baptist (7-5-4), who raced to the runner-up slot in the WAC table with a 5-1-2 conference record. The Lancers posted four shutouts in five of their league victories.
 
The 2023 WAC Men’s Soccer Tournament will kick off with a pair of first-round matches on Nov. 5, featuring No. 4 seed and host UNLV against No. 5 seed Utah Valley at 1 p.m. PT. No. 3 seed Utah Tech and No. 6 seed San José State will follow at 4 p.m. PT. The winner of match one will face No. 1 Seattle U on Nov. 8 at 4 p.m. PT in the first semifinal. The winner of match two will square off with No. 2 California Baptist on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. PT in the second semifinal. The championship match is slated for Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. PT.
 
All matches of the 2023 WAC Men’s Soccer Tournament will air live on ESPN+.
