ARLINGTON, Texas – Seattle U’s James Morris, Grand Canyon’s Uriel Diaz Loza and UNLV’s Hugo Lemos have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Soccer Offensive Player, Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week, for the match week ending on Monday, Sept. 25.
 
Morris, a senior forward, earned his second conference offensive player of the week award of the season for Seattle U in a 1-0-1 week against two top-20 opponents. Morris found a pair of go-ahead goals in the 14th and 81st minutes of a spirited 2-2 draw with No. 19 Denver on Sept. 18, finishing with a match-high five shots and three shots on goal. Morris connected on a go-ahead penalty kick in the 69th minute on the way to a 3-2 win for the Redhawks over No. 20 Washington on Sept. 21 in Seattle. Morris was tied for the conference lead in goals (6) and points (15) after nine matches as of Sept. 26.
 
Diaz Loza, a sophomore defender, contributed to the Grand Canyon backline in a 3-1 nonconference victory against Houston Christian on Sept. 20. Diaz Loza was credited with an assist on the opening goal of the contest in the 22nd minute and helped the Lopes limit the Huskies to just four shots on frame during the match.
 
Lemos, a freshman goalkeeper, continued a solid rookie campaign with his first career victory at UNLV, a 2-1 win at Tulsa on Sept. 23. Lemos made four saves over 70 minutes in a match shortened by weather to hand Tulsa its first home loss since Oct. 19, 2019, a span of 27 matches overall.
