ARLINGTON, Texas – San Diego State captured the first men’s soccer conference regular-season championship in program history, in the process clinching the number one seed for the 2024 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Soccer Tournament that will take place on Nov. 10-16 at GCU Stadium in Phoenix.

The Aztecs, who finished with a regular season record of 10-4-3, registered the seventh unbeaten conference season in WAC history with a 7-0-1 mark and 2.75 points per match in league play. San Diego State finished the regular season with eight one-goal victories, which included seven shutouts. As the top seed, the Aztecs have earned a bye to the semifinal round of the tournament.

Also earning a bye to the semifinal round of the WAC Men’s Soccer Tournament was No. 2 seed Seattle U (10-4-3), who raced to the runner-up slot in the WAC table with a 7-1-1 conference record. The Redhawks closed the regular season with results in nine of their final 10 matches overall, including four straight conference victories.

The 2024 WAC Men’s Soccer Tournament will kick off with a pair of quarterfinal matches on Nov. 10, featuring No. 4 seed Utah Valley (8-5-4, 3-3-2 WAC) against No. 5 seed San José State (4-7-7, 3-3-3 WAC) at 4 p.m. MST. No. 3 seed California Baptist (5-7-5, 4-4-1 WAC) and No. 6 seed Utah Tech (4-9-4, 3-4-2 WAC) will follow at 7 p.m. MST on Nov. 10. The winner of match one will face No. 1 San Diego State on Nov. 13 at 4 p.m. MST in the first semifinal. The winner of match two will square off with No. 2 Seattle U at 7 p.m. MST in the second semifinal on Nov. 13. The championship match is slated for Nov. 16 at 6 p.m. MST.
