ARLINGTON, Texas – California Baptist earned the No. 1 women’s seed in the 2024 Hercules Tires Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Basketball Tournament that will take place on March 13-16 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.

The Lancers, who finished with a regular season record of 26-3 (18-2 WAC) and the outright WAC Regular Season Title, registered 7.428 points in the WAC Resume Seeding System to claim the tournament’s number one seed and a double-bye to the semifinal round. No. 2 seed Grand Canyon (24-7, 16-4 WAC, 4.809 points) also secured a double-bye to Friday’s semifinals.

Also earning first-round byes to the March 14 quarterfinal round of the 2024 Hercules Tires WAC Basketball Tournament at the Orleans Arena were No. 3 seed Stephen F. Austin (20-11, 14-6 WAC, 1.399 points) and No. 4 seed Utah Tech (18-13, 12-8 WAC, -1.756 points).

The women’s tournament will begin with two games in first-round action on March 13. No. 5 seed UT Arlington (15-15, 11-9 WAC, -1.915 points) will compete against Southern Utah (8-21, 6-14 WAC, -9.030 points) to kick off the opening round at 12 p.m. PT. No. 6 seed Abilene Christian (14-15, 10-10 WAC, -5.055 points) and No. 7 seed Tarleton State (10-19, 7-13 WAC, -7.960 points) will close out the first day at 2:30 p.m. PT on ESPN+.

The winner of the UTA-SUU game will match up with Utah Tech at 12 p.m. PT and the winner of ACU and TSU will take on Stephen F. Austin at 2:30 p.m. PT in quarterfinal action on March 14. The advancing team from quarterfinal number one will advance to face No. 1 seed California Baptist at 12 p.m. PT on ESPN+ and the winner of quarterfinal number two will take on No. 2 seed Grand Canyon at 2:30 p.m. PT on ESPN+ on March 15.

The 2024 Hercules Tires Women’s Basketball Tournament final will air live on ESPNU at 10:30 a.m. PT on March 16.
