California Baptist to Make First NCAA Appearance After Capturing 2024 Hercules Tires WAC Women’s Basketball Championship Title

LAS VEGAS – California Baptist claimed its second WAC Tournament Title in program history, as the Lancers came from behind to take down No. 3 Stephen F. Austin, 75-74 on Saturday in the 2024 Hercules Tires WAC Women’s Basketball Tournament Championship Game at The Orleans Arena. With the victory, the Lancers clinched an automatic bid and will make their first appearance in the 2024 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament.

California Baptist’s senior guard Chloe Webb was selected as the 2024 University Credit Union WAC Most Outstanding Player after recording a dominant performance with 24 points, 15 rebounds and three assists. Webb hit two key free throws with six seconds left in the fourth quarter to secure the win for the Lancers. Anaiyah Tu’ua earned All-Tournament Team selection after another electric showing with 22 points, five rebounds and five assists. Kinsley Barrington chipped in with 10 points and four rebounds.  

All-Tournament Team member, Kurstyn Harden led the charge for the ‘Jacks with an impressive performance, recording her ninth double-double of the season with 26 points and 12 rebounds. Redshirt sophomore guard Avery Vansickle tallied 16 points and seven rebounds. Destini Lombard was also named to the All-Tournament Team after posting seven points, nine rebounds and eight assists.
