ARLINGTON, Texas – Utah Valley’s Ruby Hladek, Utah Tech’s Abby Olsen and Brianna Frey have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Soccer Offensive Player, Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week, for the match week ending on Sunday, Oct. 19.
 
Hladek, a senior forward, scored the game-winning goal in Utah Valley’s 2–1 comeback victory at California Baptist. Hladek scored the decisive goal just 40 seconds after the Wolverines notched the equalizer in the 77th minute. She led all players in the match with four shots on goal and tallied her 10th goal of the season, tying her UVU teammate Faith Webber for the most goals in the WAC.
 
Olsen, a freshman defender, anchored the Utah Tech defensive line that produced two shutouts last week against Tarleton State and Abilene Christian. In 153 minutes, Olsen helped the Trailblazers limit the Texans to five shots on goal and kept the Wildcats from getting a shot on frame. It was the first time Utah Tech has blanked an opponent in shots on goal in the D-I era. Olsen also notched her second goal of the season in the match against ACU, adding some insurance in the Trailblazers’ 2-0 victory.
 
Frey, a senior goalkeeper, posted two shutouts with five saves in Utah Tech’s two wins last week. Frey is now tied for second in the WAC with three shutouts this season and is only one of three goalkeepers to record multiple shutouts in conference play. With eight career shutouts, Frey ranks fourth all-time in Trailblazer history.
