ARLINGTON, Texas – California Baptist captured the first men’s soccer conference regular-season championship at the Division I level in program history, clinching the number one seed for the 2025 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Soccer Tournament that will take place on Nov. 9-15 at its home ground of Lancer Soccer Field in Riverside, California.

CBU, with a regular season mark of 9-3-3 as of Nov. 2, registered 13 league points with a 4-2-1 record in WAC matches. The Lancers secured the number one seed with a dramatic 2-1 win over San Diego State in the conference regular season finale on Nov. 1, scoring the winning goal in the 89th minute. As the top seed, CBU earned a bye to the semifinal round of the tournament.

Also earning a bye to the semifinal round of the WAC Men’s Soccer Tournament was No. 2 seed Utah Tech (4-6-6), who shared second place in the WAC table with a 3-1-3 conference record and 12 points with third-seeded Grand Canyon but claimed the second seed via aggregate goal differential in conference matches. The Trailblazers closed the regular season with results in six of their final seven matches overall.

The 2025 WAC Men’s Soccer Tournament will kick off with a pair of quarterfinal matches on Nov. 9, featuring No. 3 seed GCU (9-3-4, 3-1-3 WAC) against No. 6 seed Utah Valley (8-3-3, 2-3-2 WAC) at 4 p.m. PT. No. 4 seed San José State (10-3-4, 3-2-2 WAC) and No. 5 seed San Diego State (7-8-2, 3-2-2 WAC) will follow at 7 p.m. PT on Nov. 9. The winner of match one will face No. 2 Utah Tech on Nov. 12 at 4 p.m. PT in the first semifinal. The winner of match two will square off with No. 1 CBU at 7 p.m. PT in the second semifinal on Nov. 12. The championship match is slated for Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. PT.
