ARLINGTON, Texas – The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) announced its all-conference women’s basketball teams and major awards on Monday sponsored by Jersey Mikes, as Grand Canyon’s Trinity San Antonio was unanimously named the WAC Player of the Year, selected by the league’s nine head coaches.

Grand Canyon collected three of this year’s five major awards after a perfect undefeated conference season, including Tiarra Brown taking the WAC Defensive Player of the Year and Molly Miller earning WAC Coach of the Year. California Baptist’s CeCe Legaspi captured WAC Freshman of the Year while UT Arlington’s Aspen Thornton and Utah Valley’s Kylee Mabry were named WAC Co-Sixth Player of the Year.

On the All-WAC First Team, San Antonio was joined by her teammate Brown, UT Arlington’s Avery Brittingham and Koi Love, and Abilene Christian’s Bella Earle.

Grand Canyon also boasted two All-WAC Second Team selections in Alyssa Durazo-Frescas and Laura Erikstrup. Abilene Christian’s Meredith Mayes, California Baptist’s Khloe Lemon and Tarleton State’s Jakoriah Long completed the second-team honorees.
