ARLINGTON, Texas – Tarleton State’s Trace Morrison and Brian Panneton have been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, April 27.

Morrison, a senior outfielder, batted .533 with two home runs, seven RBIs, a 1.133 slugging percentage and eight runs scored in a 3-1 Tarleton State week. Morrison finished 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and three runs in a game two win over Utah Tech on April 26 before bashing two home runs and driving in five to complete the series sweep against the Trailblazers on April 27.

Panneton, a junior transfer right-handed pitcher, tossed a gem for Tarleton State during the opening game against Utah Tech on April 25 to earn his fifth win of the season. Panneton allowed no runs on three hits over eight full innings of work, issuing no free bases while striking out six in the eventual 3-2 victory for the Texans.
