ARLINGTON, Texas – Tarleton State’s Lauren Roy and Utah Valley’s Grace Williams have been named the Jersey Mike's A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for the meet week ending on Sunday, April 27.

Texans’ sprinter Lauren Roy delivered a historic performance for Tarleton State at the second annual Joe Gillespie Invitational. Competing in the women’s 200m, Roy crossed the line in 22.85 to win the event—breaking both the all-conditions school record and the facility record at the Tarleton State Track Complex. Her time currently ranks 16th in the NCAA and first in the WAC. Roy also holds the third-fastest WAC time this season in the 100m following her 11.44 performance at the Michael Johnson Invitational earlier in April.

Junior Grace Williams delivered a standout performance for Utah Valley at the Aggie Invitational. Williams cleared a height of 3.96 in the women’s pole vault to not only earn the individual title, but also set a new school record in the event. Her mark ties the top height recorded in the WAC this season, ranking her first in the conference.
