ARLINGTON, Texas – The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) released the 2025 WAC women’s golf season awards on Thursday afternoon as Abilene Christian’s
Ryann Honea and Tarleton State’s
Louise Depadt were named WAC Golfers of the Year, California Baptist’s
Lisa Shimmon was selected WAC Freshman of the Year and California Baptist’s
Marc Machado and Tarleton State’s
Isabel Jimenez were chosen as WAC Coaches of the Year as voted by the league’s nine head coaches.
Player awards and the all-conference teams were tabulated by using a formula that included pre-championship Clippd player rankings, adjusted regular season scoring average and placement at the 2025 WAC Women’s Golf Championship.
Honea, a junior, finished runner-up at the WAC Championship with a final score of 6-under 210 to help the Wildcats to a second-place team finish. Honea entered the conference championship with the best Clippd ranking (85
th) and the lowest adjusted scoring average (71.8) in the WAC. Honea collected two individual wins this season at the BGSU Women’s Intercollegiate and the West Texas Classic.
Depadt, a sophomore, won the 2025 WAC Women’s Golf Championship with a conference record breaking 54-hole score of 206 (-10). Depadt carried the Texans to their first WAC championship after shooting 66 in the final round of the tournament. Depadt tallied eight top-five finishes in 10 tournaments this season including wins at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational and the PSU Invitational.
Shimmon got California Baptist its second straight WAC Freshman of the Year honor after securing three top-ten finishes this season including a sixth-place finish at the Diamante Intercollegiate where she shot her season-best score of 5-under 211.
Machado led the Lancers to four top-three placements including two victories at the Kelsey Chugg Invitational and the WMU Rio Verde Invitational. The Lancers shot a season-best 2-under-par at the Diamante Intercollegiate on Oct. 20-22.
Jimenez won Tarleton State’s first-ever automatic qualifier to an NCAA tournament after winning the WAC Women’s Golf Championship with a team score of 876. Jimenez led the Texans to seven top-three finishes in the 2024-25 season. The Texans will compete in NCAA Regionals as the No. 11 seed in the Lubbock Regional at Lubbock, Texas on May 5-7.

Rivekka Jumagulova. The All-WAC Second Team consisted of California Baptist’s
