McFEELY’S NINTH INNING HOMER SEALS THE SERIES WIN FOR CALIFORNIA BAPTIST
California Baptist captured its first WAC series victory of the 2026 season on Friday against Abilene Christian after some ninth-inning heroics from
Bryce McFeely who broke a 2-2 tie with a solo home run, his second of the series and 10th on the year.
Michael Malki was named the WAC Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season after shutting down the Wildcats on Thursday with seven scoreless frames and 11 strikeouts.
UTAH TECH CLAIMS FIRST WAC SERIES win BEHIND STRONG OFFENSIVE WEEKEND
The Trailblazers averaged just over 10 runs per game and 12 hits per game in their 2-1 series victory against Sacramento State. The Trailblazers run-ruled the Hornets 13-3 on Friday, with
Petey Soto Jr. driving in four on a third-inning grand slam, finishing the day with six RBIs.
Ty Johnsen crossed the plate four times in the game after a perfect 4-for-4 day in the batter’s box.
UT ARLINGTON TAMES THE TEXANS TO WIN THIS WEEK’S WAC LONE STAR STATE SERIES
After giving up the first game of the series to Tarleton State, UT Arlington rallied back to take the final two games of the weekend to secure the series win.
Kyle Winkler provided six strong innings on the mound for the Mavericks on Friday, allowing just one unearned run and picking up the win.
Merek Sears closed out the series with 3.1 shutout innings in relief on Saturday, notching the save for UTA.
FIVE-HIT DAY FOR DESSENS
This week’s WAC Player of the Week,
Erick Dessens, led Sacramento State to the series finale 13-11 victory over Utah Tech on Saturday after a flawless 5-for-5 day at the plate with five RBIs while reaching base safely six times in the game. Dessens’ day was highlighted by a three-run homer in the third inning and a two-run single in the sixth inning. Dessens recorded a .643 batting average in the series.
LADUSAU WALKS OFF THE SERIES FINALE FOR ACU
Abilene Christian overcame an 8-3 deficit to CBU on Saturday with a three-run sixth inning followed by a solo home run in each of the last three frames.
Brady Ladusau knocked out the walk-off game-winning homer in the bottom of the ninth, capping off a 4-for-5 day at the plate.
