ARLINGTON, Texas – Utah Valley’s Sila Kiplagat and Tarleton State’s Jalen Cadet have been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, for the competition period between April 1st and 7th.

Kipligat, a freshman from Iten, Kenya, set a new school record in the 1500-meter run with a time of 3:40.74 at the Stanford Invitational. That’s the best time in the WAC and the 20th fastest time in the NCAA this season.

Cadet, a senior from Nassau, Bahamas, earned a bronze medal in the long jump at the Texas Relays in Austin with a leap of 7.66 meters (25’1.75”). That jump is best in the WAC this season and 27th in the NCAA.
