ARLINGTON, Texas – The Tarleton State Texans have claimed the top seed for the 2026 University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Baseball Tournament that will take place on May 20-23, at the Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, Arizona.

Tarleton State secured the outright WAC regular season title, and it’s first regular-season championship in its DI era, with a 15-4 victory over Sacramento State last Friday. The Texans concluded the 2026 season with a 12-6 conference record and a 34-19 overall record. With the No. 1 seed in the tournament, Tarleton State earned a first-round bye into the quarterfinals and will play its first game on Thursday, May 21 at 3 p.m. MST against the winner of No. 4 Sacramento State and No. 5 Abilene Christian.

No. 2 California Baptist enters the tournament on a four-game winning streak and obtained the second first-round bye after posting a 43-13 (11-7 WAC) season record. The Lancers will square off with the victor between No. 3 Utah Tech and No. 6 UT Arlington on Thursday, 21 at 11 a.m. MST.

The Trailblazers and the Mavericks will kick off the tournament on Wednesday, May 20 at 11 a.m. MST followed by the Hornets and Wildcats in game two at 3 p.m. MST.

The championship game of the 2026 University Credit Union WAC Baseball Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, May 23 at 3 p.m. MST, with the ‘if necessary’ game 11 to follow the conclusion of game 10. All games will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
