ARLINGTON, Texas – California Baptist’s Michael Carpentier and UT Arlington’s Caylon Dygert have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, March 3.
 
Carpentier, a senior catcher, batted .529 with four doubles, four RBI, a .556 on-base percentage and four runs scored during a series win for CBU against UC Davis. Carpentier went 3-for-5 with a double, RBI and run scored to kick off the series in game one of a doubleheader on March 1, drove in two runs in the nightcap of the twin bill on March 1, recorded a 3-for-4 outing with two doubles and two runs on March 2 and finished 2-for-5 with a run scored in the series finale on March 3.
 
Dygert, a freshman right-handed pitcher, made an impactful third career start for UTA during a 3-1 victory at Lamar on March 2. Dygert earned his first collegiate win by throwing a complete game five-hitter for the Mavs, issuing a single walk and hit by pitch and four strikeouts on 94 pitches. Dygert accounted for 13 fly ball outs and 10 ground ball outs during the outing.
