ARLINGTON, Texas – California Baptist’s Nicholas Dumesnil, Abilene Christian’s Brett Lanman and Sacramento State’s Kade Brown have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Baseball Player and Pitchers of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, April 21.

Dumesnil, a sophomore outfielder, earned his second weekly conference honor of the season for CBU after an impactful week for the 3-1 Lancers. Dumesnil batted .467 with four home runs, seven RBIs, a 1.235 slugging percentage and 10 runs over four starts. Dumesnil clubbed a solo home run and scored twice against UNLV on April 15, and opened a doubleheader at Abilene Christian 5-for-5 with two home runs, five RBIs and five runs scored on April 19. Dumesnil chipped in three hits and three runs in the nightcap against ACU.

Lanman, a freshman left-handed pitcher, picked up conference pitcher of the week for the second time in his debut campaign after guiding ACU to victory in the series finale against red-hot CBU on April 21. Lanman scattered two hits over 7.1 innings, walking one batter and striking out five Lancers in a 4-0 shutout. Lanman did not allow a CBU base runner past second base and improved to 6-1 on the season.

Brown, a redshirt freshman right-handed pitcher, earned a pair of saves for Sacramento State in two wins against Southern California in Irvine, California in nonconference play. Brown spun a spotless ninth inning with one strikeout to earn the save in a 6-3 triumph over USC on April 19. Brown tossed the final 2.1 innings with one walk allowed and three strikeouts to again blank the Trojans and pick up a second save in a 5-4 Sacramento State victory on April 21.
