ARLINGTON, Texas – Grand Canyon’s Junior Diouf, Utah Tech’s Anthony Godinez and San José State’s Edgar Guerra have been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Soccer Offensive Player, Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week, for the match week ending on Monday, Oct. 6.

Diouf, a freshman forward, wrote the latest chapter in his dynamic debut season with four more goals last week to push his conference lead to 10 goals in just nine matches in 2025. Diouf opened the scoring in the 30th minute and then adding the ultimate winning goal in the 35th minute of a 2-1 win over UTRGV on Sept. 30 in Phoenix. In the WAC opener against previously unbeaten Utah Valley on Oct. 4, Diouf vaulted the Lopes into the lead in the 67th minute before depositing an unassisted insurance goal in the 84th minute of a 3-1 victory.

Godinez, a senior defender, played the full 90 minutes for Utah Tech during a competitive 0-0 draw at UNLV to kick off the conference slate on Oct. 4. The Trailblazers back line held the host Rebels to just five total shots during the match, with only one shot attempt for UNLV being officially credited as a shot on goal.

Guerra, a redshirt senior goalkeeper, earned a seventh consecutive result in goal for San José State following a 3-1 win over California Baptist in the conference opener on Oct. 4. Guerra was credited with a season-high six saves in the victory, taking a clean sheet into the 89th minute against a CBU side that had previously scored multiple goals in six different matches this season.
