ARLINGTON, Texas – Abilene Christian’s
Thomas Buisson and Tarleton State’s
Luis Buech have been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Golfers of the Month for October 2025.
Buisson, a senior, posted six scores under par and three top-25 finishes in three tournaments in the month of October including a career-best score of 6-under-par 210 (71-70-69) at SMU’s Trinity Forest Invitational. Buisson recorded 15 birdies in the tournament and shot 7-under on par 5s. Buisson then led Abilene Christian to a fourth-place team finish in the FAU Invitational with rounds of 73-70 to secure a career-best placement of 14
th at 2-under-par. Buisson collected 27 pars in the tournament, the third most in the field. He also carded rounds of 73-70-71 to claim 25
th place at 214 (-2) at Little Rock’s Everett Buick GMC Classic.
Buech, a sophomore, helped Tarleton State capture its first-ever D-I team title at the FAU Invitational. Buech tied for the Texans best score of 6-under-par 138 (70-68) in the tournament for a third-place finish, the lowest 36-hole score by a Texan in the D-I era. Buech notched a career-high 10 birdies in the tournament, tied for the third most in the field. Buech also recorded Tarleton State’s first-ever hole-in-one in competition at the Oregon State Invitational in the third round at hole No. 5 that ranged 148 yards. He finished as the top Texan in the tournament, tying for 27
th overall with a 54-hole score of 222.
