ARLINGTON, Texas – Tarleton State’s Luis Buech has been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Golfer of the Week for the competition week ending on Wednesday, Feb. 18.  
 
Buech, a sophomore, led Tarleton State to a runner-up team finish at the Border Olympics at the Laredo Country Club hosted by the University of Houston. Buech collected his second top five finish of the season as he tied for fourth place in the tournament, carding rounds of 75-67-68 to finish 3-under-par 210. The 54-hole score of 210 bested his previous season-low 54-hole score by five strokes. After shooting 4-over-par in the first round, Buech compiled 13 of his 14 birdies in the final 36 holes. He logged the best score in the field on par-5 holes, recording a score of 6-under-par and averaging 4.33 strokes on par-5 holes.
