Day One Results
HOUSTON, Texas – The 2025 WAC Swimming and Diving Championships kicked off on Wednesday with the men’s 1-meter dive, women’s 3-meter dive, men’s and women’s 200 medley relay and 800 free relay. Northern Arizona leads the women and California Baptist lead the men after the first day of competition.
California Baptist’s
Sofia Maksimova, Lynn Henke, Sara Svorcan and
Naya Koc won the women’s 200 medley relay with a time of 1:39.19, beating out Grand Canyon by 0.21 seconds.
On the men’s side UNLV’s
Wikus Potgieter, Danny Beji, Emil Perez and
Daniel Nicusan took the 200 medley relay, finishing at 1:24.46 ahead of CBU and GCU.
Northern Colorado’s
Elizabeth Mayer, Martina Yuki Trionfetti, Lora Konter and
Kyra Rabess claimed the top spot in the women’s 800 freestyle relay, finishing with a time of 7:14.85. UNC finished over a second ahead of NAU and Idaho rounded out the top three.
Kiril Stepanov, Ambrus Barcsak, Colby Raffel and
Cooper Kiel finished the UNLV sweep in the men’s relay races this evening by winning the 800 freestyle relay at 6:23.17. Air Force and Wyoming rounded out the top three.
California Baptist’s
Mario Del Valle claimed a second straight conference title in the men’s 1-meter dive with a score of 405.90. CBU teammate
Gael Jiminez finished runner up at 393.75 points.
Northern Arizona swept the top three spots in the women’s 3-meter dive with
Victoria Knapp taking home the gold with a score of 305.05.
Mackenna Stocker claimed silver with
Margaret Wesche securing the bronze.
The 2025 WAC Swimming and Diving Championships resume Thursday with the prelims beginning at 10:30 a.m. CT. Final events along will commence at 6:00 p.m. CT.
