ARLINGTON, Texas – Tarleton State’s Rayner Heinrich and Abilene Christian’s Brett Lanman have been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, March 23.

Heinrich, a freshman infielder, turned in a steady cumulative performance for Tarleton State in a 2-2 week that included a narrow loss to Kansas State and a nonconference series win against Stephen F. Austin. Heinrich batted .550 with five RBIs, two stolen bases and three runs scored during the week, logging multi-hit outings in all four games. Heinrich finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored versus Kansas State on March 19 before going a combined 9-for-16 against SFA, including a 5-for-6 day with two RBIs and two runs scored on March 22.

Lanman, a sophomore left-handed pitcher, posted his best start of the season for ACU in a 3-1 win over Grand Canyon on March 22. Lanman fashioned a complete game two-hitter, allowing an unearned run with two hit batters with striking out seven Lopes on 103 pitches to improve to 4-0 in 2025.
