LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – Tarleton State leads the team leaderboard following the first round of the 2025 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Golf Championship on Monday at the par-72 gold course of Wigwam Golf Club. The Texans shot 6-over-par 294 to take a one-stroke lead over California Baptist and UT Arlington.
The Lancers and the Mavericks tied for second place after the first 18 holes at 7-over-par 295. Grand Canyon sits five strokes behind the Texans in fourth place at 11-over-par 299 with Utah Tech and Abilene Christian tied for the fifth spot at 14-over-par 302.
Round one ended with a four-way tie in the individual leaderboard at 1-under-par 71 between Grand Canyon’s
Anci Dy, California Baptist’s
Damini Law Ghanshyani, Utah Tech’s
Jenna Anderson, and UT Arlington’s
Nitisha Manikandesh. Utah Tech’s
Samantha Phelan and Tarleton State’s
Louise Depadt trail the leaders by one stroke as the pair each shot even through the first 18.
