ARLINGTON, Texas – California Baptist’s Nick Dumesnil and Sacramento State’s Noah Lucchesi have been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, May 4.

Dumesnil, a junior outfielder, batted .500 with four extra base hits, five RBIs, a .611 on-base percentage, 11 putouts in the field and four runs scored in a 3-1 CBU week. Dumesnil contributed three straight multi-hit games and reached base safely three or more times in two contests. Dumesnil went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs in game one against Tarleton State on May 2, ripped two hits and scored three runs in a victory on May 3 and belted a solo home run and logged six putouts in the series finale to complete the CBU sweep on May 4.

Lucchesi, a senior left-handed pitcher, was 1-0 with a spotless ERA over 5.1 innings of relief last week. After striking out the lone batter he faced against UC Davis on April 29, Lucchesi threw five shutout innings of three-hit baseball with two walks and six strikeouts in a 14-4 win over Grand Canyon to clinch the series on May 3.
