ARLINGTON, Texas – Tarleton State’s Marissa Minetti and Utah Tech’s Maya Inouye and Nutsa Tsintsadze have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Tennis Players of the Week, for the match week ending on Monday, Jan. 19.
 
Minetti, a freshman, won her first Spring collegiate match on Jan. 15, taking the win on court 6 over Wyoming’s Serina Abriola 6-4, 6-3. Minetti’s win tied the match at 3-3 to force a winner-take-all-contest on court 3. Minetti ended the Fall ranked No. 111 nationally in the ITA.
 
Inouye and Tsintsadze, sophomores, paired up for a 6-4 win against BYU’s Bella Lewis and Sage Bergeson on court 2 in the first match of a doubleheader on Saturday. With a Cougar forfeit at the third doubles, Inouye and Tsintsadze secured Utah Tech’s first-ever doubles points against BYU. The duo fell in the second match on court 1 to BYU’s Sue Yan Tan and YuYun Chen 6-3.
