ARLINGTON, Texas – Utah Tech’s Ana Gutierrez Sampere and Mariana Zurita Berdecio have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Tennis Players of the Week, for the match week ending on Monday, Jan. 26.
 
Gutierrez Sampere, a junior, logged her second win of the season, beating Weber State's Naomi Johnson at No. 3 Singles on Friday, 6-4, 7-5. Gutierrez Sampere guided Utah Tech to its first-ever win at Weber State and its first-ever win in a road opener at the DI level.
 
Gutierrez Sampere and Zurita Berdecio, a junior, took down Weber State's Jessica Hill and Naomi Johnson, 6-4, at No. 1 Doubles. It was the pair's first doubles win of the season and UT's first win at No. 1 Doubles this year.
