2026 WAC SB Release - Week 11

TEXANS SWEEP THE THUNDERBIRDS IN PART OF A 4-0 WEEK
Tarleton State is the winner of seven of its last eight games, including coming off a 4-0 week at home where the Texans swept Southern Utah to take over second place in the WAC standings. The Texans swept this week’s WAC weekly honors as Braylin Pannill was named the WAC Player of the Week after totaling three home runs, eight RBIs and four runs scored last week. Dual threat Jaelynn Duke was tabbed the WAC Pitcher of the Week after a pair of strong performances in the pitching circle where she allowed just one earned run in a total of 12 innings pitched.
 
CBU MAINTAINS WAC STANDINGS LEAD HEADING INTO BYE WEEKEND
California Baptist is now 4-for-4 in WAC series wins this season after taking 2-of-3 games at UT Arlington last week. The Lancer’s 34th win of 2026 marked a record for most wins in a single season in their DI era. Makayla Medellin set a pair of CBU DI single-season records with 11 home runs and 46 RBIs and counting. Heading into their conference bye week, the Lancers hold a 2.5 game lead over Tarleton State in the WAC standings.
 
UTAH VALLEY USES SEVENTH INNING RALLY TO TAKE THE SERIES VS ACU
After splitting the Friday double-header, Utah Valley had to rally back late against Abilene Christian on Saturday to take the series finale. The Wolverines trailed 7-2 entering the sixth inning but were able to score two in sixth and four in the seventh to complete their largest comeback of the season. Britney Moreno tied the game with a triple and Tatum Hall followed with the game-winning double to knock in Moreno.
 
UTA’S MCDONNELL SHUTS OUT THE LANCERS
UT Arlington’s Madi McDonnell became the first WAC pitcher to shutout CBU this season in the Mavericks’ 2-0 victory against the Lancers. McDonnell picked up her second complete game, and first complete game shutout, of the season on Friday as she held the Lancers to just five hits and one walk.
 
ACU’S MAXWELL TAKES WAC HOME RUN LEAD FOLLOWING FOURTH STRAIGHT GAME WITH A HOMER
Abilene Christian’s Ari Maxwell has caught fire lately as she has posted a home run in each of the last four ACU games, increasing her home run season total to 12, the most in the WAC. In the last four games combined, Maxwell has recorded a .538 batting average, eight RBIs and seven runs scored.
