ARLINGTON, Texas – Utah Tech’s Miller Durham and Sacramento State’s Ethan Lay have been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, April 19.
 
Durham, a junior infielder, has posted six straight games with multiple hits, including five last week as he led Utah Tech to a four-game winning streak and a series sweep over Utah Valley. In a pair of midweek games against UNLV and Washington State, Durham recorded a stat line of 2-for-3 with three runs scored in each game. Durham then went 10-for-16 (.625) in the UVU series with a total of four RBIs and three runs scored. Durham finished the week with a .636 batting average (14-for-22) and a total of nine runs scored.
 
Lay, a senior right-handed pitcher, notched his third straight quality start in the series opener against UT Arlington, tossing seven shutout innings where he allowed only five hits and one walk, helping Sacramento State to a 2-1 victory. Lay held the Mavericks to a .208 batting average in the game. Lay has allowed two or fewer earned runs in each of his last six starts, lowering his ERA to 1.93 on the year, the second best in the WAC.
